Summer Ritual for a Sunny Will

Summer Ritual for a Sunny Will

Good will is certainly a concept to ponder. How many of us can truly say we have it?

Now, as warm colors and blazing vitality evoke the power of the will, we can align ourselves with our deepest, best selves with this simple, ancient ritual. After all, summer invites us to think of ways we can harness our immense fiery will in order to give something unique and meaningful to the world, knowing that when we do the things we most love to do we nourish ourselves and others, for the good of all.

This just takes a sunny day and a little birdseed. And it is such a joyful way to celebrate the sun and our own capacity for a truly good will:

Go to a place where wild birds are known to congregate (if you’re a city-dweller, pigeons will do just fine). Stand facing the sun. Close your eyes and imagine that the golden sunlight is streaming into your solar plexus, your will center. Now visualize that you are beaming that golden light back to the sun as you say:

I will to will Thy will.

Now, carefully sprinkle the birdseed around yourself in as perfect a circle as you can, and say:

May my will grow lighter, to feed the world. Now it is done.

Step outside the circle and find a place to sit quietly and observe. Watch as the birds discover and feed themselves with your gift. As each bird takes flight after its meal, visualize your will center growing more light and generous and warm.

Delightful except for the pigeons...one lady living in the apartment below me insists on breaking regulations putting up a bird feeder. This would be great except eventually the pigeons find the feeder and bully all the other birds until no birds except the pigeons can access the feeder! No more brightly coloured little woodpeckers or nut hatches will stay around after this happens.

Squirrels arrive for a few raids while the pigeons fly over the cars dive bombing them with expertly delivered poop bombs daily covering the cars in many splatters, large sized...not to mention the balconies.

Hummingbirds however are the only birds able to access their specialized feeders because of the clever design of their long beaks and these tiny wonders are such a jewelled delight not bullying other birds nor do they leave much in the way of aerial splats from above! If she puts up a feeder one for hummingbirds would make sense.

Had to complain and it has been taken down til she does it again in a few months.

For my bird watching fix I drive out to a rural area nearby and park in front of someone's feeder for a view watching a variety of birds. Strangely one rarely sees a pigeon near a rural feeder in this area.

That is wonderful. But I must wonder at "do the will of thy will". What's the point of building you're own to do another's will?
Is this magic or religion? Thy? Seems biblical.
Nudists might note that the solar energy readily enters the body through the hidden organs. As many know, do not try to contain this energy, let it pass through you.
Oh, and once you become willful, stay away from the cops. LOL
