My family rather carry a lunch box, Finger foods such as raw veggies, fresh fruit, mixed nuts, peanut butter celery, oh the list can go on and on...just right amounts nothing wasted, tasty and healthy...great for everyone...

I think natural peanut butter with honey on whole grain bread, makes a nice nutritious light lunch, or breakfast, with an apple or other fruit on the sideand juice or green tea with it.

Try adding a twist to old lunchbox treats. Mix some cinnamon in with a peanut butter sandwich. Replace sandwich bread with a soft pretzel, tortilla or roll. If your student's school provides a microwave, you can send last night's leftovers, premade soup, or just about anything.

When my kids were young, we came up with names like Tuna submarines (tuna on hot dog rolls), ....Flying saucers (something on hamburger rolls). It made their lunches interesting for them. I made my own trail mix and would put a small container in their lunch. I'd also put fresh fruit, cut up in a container so they could eat it. A whole apple was sometimes too much for the little ones. My kids loved peanut butter, especially my son, I'd put a small container (plastic with lid) in his lunch for snack or whatever. I found out he was eating that with his finger so I gave him a spoon. Lunch was never wasted.
