How to Seed a Pomegranate

Seeding a pomegranate can be a hot mess unless you know what you’re doing.

The delicate seeds produce juice that gets all over the cutting board if you put too much pressure on them, but the fruit’s inner membrane makes it tough to get at those seeds any other way. Luckily, Chef John at Food Wishes worked out a technique to help you seed those pomegranates without making a huge mess of your kitchen. Check it:

Pomegranate seeds are delicious to snack on by themselves, but it’s also fun to mix things up, right?

I read somewhere, don't recall the publication, but it claimed that 3oz. of pomegranate juice daily cleared arteries of harmful plaques in 4 weeks.

Only had pomegranate once but a couple of these recipes sound really good. Will try to get seeds out into empty bowl first, as I do want o save the juice. Thanks.

Thank you.

Sorry, but I would never waste the juice. If you break it open over an empty bowl, you can save the juice and use it in whatever else for which you are using the seeds.

The seeds and juice make a good salad even better.
