It’s also an excellent source of minerals like:

  • calcium for bone health
  • phosphorus, which also contributes to healthy bones as well as maintaining hormone balance and for cell repair
  • magnesium, which helps your body absorb calcium to improve bone health and can also help women reduce PMS symptoms
  • potassium for healthier muscles and kidneys and to protect your body against stroke, high blood pressure, and anxiety
  • copper to help your body absorb iron
  • zinc, a mineral that supports a healthy immune system

Interesting, I'm guessing you can do almost anything with Quinoa you can with rice or couscous.

The Quinoa Loaf really has amazing reviews. I copied and saved the recipe(recipe files vegetarian). There were many complaints about the texture being too crumbly, so I will be adding an egg as a binder, as I am not vegan. There were also many complaints about it being a bit bland, many reviewers recommended using broth to cook the quinoa in and to be sure to taste at all stages to adjust for salt and pepper. Also, many sautee'd the onions and mushrooms together before adding to the mix(the recipe calls for them to be added raw).

Thank you for the quinoa recipes. I am doing The Liver Cleansing Diet by Sandra Cabot and I think a couple of these could be very useful and quite tasty.
