i'm a teeth grinder and bought a night guard which did the trick, i don't wake up with achy jaws, etc
although that created another problem - drooling! but then i've always been a drooler (i have the pics to prove it!)
Thanks
Thanks for the article.
I have a horrid grinding problem. I have ground through a few night guards. An insightful article!!
I have been grinding my teeth at night for years and it did a lot of damage before I started wearing a night guard. Like Vicky H., I managed to chew through it as well. My dentist then made a night guard that is made of very hard material that fits on my bottom teeth. It took a while to get used to, but I won't sleep without it.
I'm going to the dentist for a crown today. Since last October I have spent $3,000 at the dentist (including my 3rd root canal) and I'm hoping this will be it for a while. I need the crown because I broke a tooth eating stuffed clams and bit into shell. If it weren't for my "heavy duty" night guard, I would damage even more teeth.
