The Benefits of Oat Milk (with Recipe)

Those of us who avoid dairy milk, by choice or necessity, are fortunate to live in a time when multiple delicious and healthy milk alternatives are easy to find. Oat milk is a wonderful way to receive essential nutrition from a natural, lactose free, and sustainable source every day.

Oats have many healing properties and are best known for their high protein and fiber content and cholesterol reducing abilities. Oats can enhance the immune system, prevent cardiovascular diseases, maintain healthy cholesterol and blood sugar levels, provide strength and energy from natural plant proteins and sugars, and improve the health of your skin and hair.

Oat milk is something you can easily find in almost any grocery store. Please note that the following nutritional information offered here will vary based on the brand of oat milk you choose to purchase. Each brand adds different amounts of extra ingredients to produce a unique and desirable taste, some brands also fortify their products.

I found this smoothie recipe which is good for bowel health. Will make the oat milk needed for it, and in a smoothie, whatever the milk's flavour, it should be well masked with fruit!

1 cup oat milk
1 ripe banana
1 Tbsp slippery elm powder
1/2 cup coconut milk
2 kiwifruit or 1/2 cup berries.

Blend!

I'm not vegan, but I do love soy, coconut, and rice milk. Just a few days ago I found oat milk and tried it, and it's sooo good. Making my own milk at home never even occurred t ome. Now I think I have to try it. Thanks

Oops, error, grammatical error, forgot the be in maybe! Shocking! Drank too much hibiscus tea, may the Great Pumpkin forgive me...didn't finish proofreading, the neighbour's cat just gave She Who Must Be Obeyed (an elder sixteen year old cat) a whack of her paw while visiting me. The two younger cats have little respect for their elders! (Apologies to Charlie Brown).

I have quite a variety of oats so will be giving this a try soon. The days are getting shorter and the nights colder now that it is almost the end of October. Heated oat cereal is always welcome but one can also add oat milk to the breakfast as well. While I drink two percent milk there is always room for different liquid beverages and oats are wonderful.

MikI D, Care2 can't put the cheese cloth over your eyes. Keep up the good work and may you will get an offer for checking out the words before they hit cybrrrrr space!
