Small spaces can yield big results, as these humble home offices prove. Here are five functional home work areas that fit into unassuming corners, nooks and even closets.
Above: In this home by Deborah Berke Architects, a small work space fits into a large white bookshelf; when not in use, it can be concealed behind pocket doors.
Above: A simple palette and expandable desk that tucks neatly behind the door makes this corner workspace blend in when not being used. Originally seen via Design Sponge.
Above: Remodelista editor Janet created an instant family office in her sunroom corner with two simple elements: the Parsons Desk in white ($349 at West Elm) and a vintage Toledo Chair ($75 on Ebay).
Above: In this compact children’s room seen in Dwell Magazine, architects Takaharu and Yui created a workspace that boasts plenty of room to study without interfering with the bed quarters.
Above: Often used for extra shelving or storage; From the Desk of Lola designer Alexandra Loew leant a working title to this corner.

I love it.
Thanks.
I don't have kids yet, but this article is making me question how I'm gonna raise them. I'm tempted…
I do not have kids by choice but some of my friends have kids who are OBSESSED with their devices. …
Thank you

love the ideas! wish i had a work space that looked like one of those...
Wow :)
Use the space you have as wisely as with any other limited resource.
thanks for sharing these uses for small spaces
I like the options for working with a small space - since that is often all that is available for an office or craft space
Interesting.
Claustrophobic.
Oh, I like these. Especially the last one. Thanks.
Most of these require a house far bigger than mine, I'm afraid. My computer desk is 20" square, and we have a slightly bigger one for my mother and a communal table 32" by 30", and that's all there's room for.
