The Mother Teresa Way

The Mother Teresa Way

We cannot do great things,
only little things with great love.
–Mother Teresa

Doing “little things with great love” defined Mother Teresa’s life and witness in the world; she became an emblem of selfless and devoted service to those in need.

But how can we apply Mother Teresa’s way to our own lives? Learn here:

Mother Teresa knew that great opportunities are rare and that the little opportunities that come our way every day provide the occasions for us to grow in love by transcending ourselves. It takes considerable awareness from moment to moment to recognize these little opportunities. We need to be alert to the invitations we receive in each moment.

We can respond with love in all the situations of life and practice compassion without counting the cost. And of course a spiritual practice of meditation or prayer can help prepare us to do everything with extraordinary love in each moment.

One of the reasons we are here in this existence is to learn and hone this skill of great love. The great achievements our society celebrates often have no beneficial effect on anyone. It is really the little things that are important.

There is honor in attending such deeds that are helpful or Kind, big or small.

All the big things are made up with little things, one on one on one, whether a lifetime of love or an outpouring of creative genius, which are two aspects of the same thing. Heck, the whole universe started with one word ..

There's always a naysayer. Someone who will belittle the accomplishments and dedication of others. Mother Teresa is one of my favorite all-time heroes. She suffered a crises in faith. Who wouldn't? She dealt with death on a daily basis, cleaned bottoms, wiped vomit from faces, and held their hands as they breathed their last. She lamented the fact that she never saw Jesus. But we did. We all saw Jesus working through her and those dying felt Him in every tender touch of her hand. I will always admire her.

We've really got to give our all in doing whatever we've got to

I know that many believe that Mother Teresa was a great person. And I think it's great she was able to bring light into peoples lives. some one asked how anyone could object to her. I can because of the fact that the Catholic Church and Mother Teresa condemned so many to lives of poverty and added to the over crowding of the world population because of the Churches stance on birth control and abortion.
