The Water Weight Loss Cure

Adapted from The Water Prescription, by Christopher Vasey, N.D. (Inner Traditions, 2002).
Although beauty is largely a matter of inner radiance, physical treatments can help keep us feeling and looking our best. Water remedies can be quite effective in maintaining the figure and skin in particular.
Did you know that weight gain can be fought with a water remedy? That water regenerates the skin? Learn about water’s secrets for beauty, here:
Weight
Weight gain from overeating can cause unflattering changes to the figure, but it can be fought with a water remedy. By drinking generous amounts of water (more than a half-gallon (or 2 liters) a day, you can reduce the amount of food consumed and also eliminate false hunger pains.
Furthermore, good hydration of the tissues encourages enzymatic activity and therefore the burning of fat deposits.
To lose weight drink 2.5 to 3.5 liters a day, on the higher side the more you weigh and eat.
Skin
Water is an essential ingredient for skin regeneration. The skin of a 130-pound individual contains around 2 gallons of water, and the skin of a 160-pound individual contains almost 2.5 gallons of water. This water is retained by special molecules capable of holding in place a thousand times their weight of the skin and the loss of a fresh youthful appearance.
When the skin lacks water, it becomes dull, dry, and wrinkled and loses its elasticity, firmness, and color, and glands eliminate toxins poorly and become congested causing skin problems.
Hydrating skin properly by drinking enough prevents these assaults on the skin.
To maintain youthful skin, around 2.5 liters of water a day should be sufficient.

As with everything else, balance.
I get my water in hard chunks floating seductively in the top of my glass of tea.

I'm in martial arts, and I've noticed that I seem to have more energy when I drink loads of water all day and munch a little something every three or so hours. (Yay for water!) Now if I could only remember to do so more often...
Hugo, I think all the liquids you drink do count towards the 2.5 liter total... However, how about trying a few sips throughout the day, instead of a full glass in a single moment? You know, just to get the habit started. Should work!

Is coffee, tea or other liquids a substitute of plain water?
I never drink water (shame on me) but I do drink a lot of liquids. I've been told that it is not the same.

I have been reading that a lot of peoples health problems are due to lack of water. Our bodies are starving for it and when it doesnt get water, many problems can appear.
I get heartburn quite often in the middle of the night and I just roll over and drink a big glass of water...it takes care of it! I notice when I drink enough water, my face is fresh and the wrinkles are less pronounced than when I dont.
