Tiger Caged in a Louisiana Gas Station … Seriously?

Tiger Caged in a Louisiana Gas Station … Seriously?

Care2 petitions have helped ban the use of tigers and other wildlife in circuses. But they haven’t stopped a truck stop in Louisiana from having Tony, “The Truckstop Tiger” … yet. The 13-year old Siberain-Bengal has been providing entertainment for visitors, despite his exposure to loud noises and fumes from diesel trucks. Tony has been stuck there for 10 years.

The Dodo reported, “Tony the Tiger will likely remain in his cage at the truck stop, despite a lawsuit brought against Tony’s owner, Mike Sandlin. Now, a bill to provide Sandlin with legal exemptions so he can keep Tony is creeping up the political ranks.

What do you think? Should Tony be in an animal sanctuary instead of a cage at a truck stop? If your answer is yes, please sign the Care2 petition telling Governor Jindal to veto Senate Bill 250, that would provide an exemption for Sandling from state restrictions on owning exotic cats.

This has been going on for so long......I hope one day, Tony's owner will be awakening to see the joy of FREEDOM, free of the mind, and free from burden. Every one has to stop at his gas station and naturally force him to have financial problem. He will not see true freedom and love without experiencing himself. Maybe he should visit the state prison and see the looks on those prisoners. Something has to evoke him,. So sad to live without wisdom and compassion and cause suffering to other beings.

How can we bring this to a successful conclusion with the best outcome for Tony?. I can't say what I really feel about the owner, that may get me kicked out of Care2.

I just called and spoke directly with Governor Jindal's office. Sadly, I was informed that the Governor DID sign S.B. 250 into law on June 18, 2014. VERY DISAPPOINTED! I still strongly shared my comments, and now complaints, and was assured these would still be heard by his appropriate staff, and hopefully, the Governor himself likewise. So............
WHAT ADDITIONAL STEPS DO WE HAVE, IF ANY, TO FREE THIS POOR TIGER FROM FURTHER IMPRISONMENT??? Thoughts???
