He could have been left alone if all the bear was doing was sitting in a tree, he would have eventually come down and wander off elsewhere. Had he been crashing through someone's window then that is the time to call wildlife officials but sitting in a tree minding his or her own business, ridiculous!

At 200+ pounds, let's hope that tranquilizer relaxed the bear enough so that nothing was broken in the fall.
