This was cruel, not funny. If you've ever had a pet water turtle, you know that they can be aggressive and one bite can slice off a good-sized chunk of you. The turtle was not "playing." Land turtles are a much better option in a multi-pet home. Box turtles actually do interact with and form friendships with cats and dogs quite readily.
