The average-sized hotel purchases more products in one week than 100 families do in a year. The waste generated can be as high as 30 pounds per room per day. Typical hotels in California use 218 gallons of water per day per occupied room. Can you leave small footprints while you go on vacation? The travel industry is stepping up more and more to make the protection of the environment a priority for travelers.

Here are some tips for greener vacations. Or, vacation at home with a staycation.
