In last week’s post, I mentioned how silken tofu creates a deliciously ‘creamy’ texture, making it perfect as a base for everything from salad dressings and pasta sauces to soy yogurt and even… chocolate cream pie. Yes, you heard correctly – chocolate cream pie for vegans… Does life get any better?
This decadent dessert is deliciously velvety and delightfully rich, yet it contains zero animal products and therefore, absolutely no cholesterol.
If you don’t have the time, the patience, or the confidence to make a pie crust from scratch, take a look at your local health food store and you may well find that they sell a pre-made vegan pie crust.

Cool. Thanks!!!
Hey Mich,
So great to hear that you tried the recipe, and to find out that you're transitioning to veganism!
You won't miss dairy. Once you lose your taste for it (which doesn't take long) it starts to appear... well, rather gross frankly. :-)
Wow! Incredible! Very rich. I used grapeseed oil, as I did not have sunflower oil on hand, and it came out great. The whipped topping has a pudding-like consistency; I think I will try using less oil in the whipped topping next time, to see if it comes out lighter. Also, I only used 1 tbsp of vanilla in the whipped topping, still had a very rich flavor. Thanks for sharing, Angel. I'm just making the transition to vegan after being vegetarian for the last 13 years, and I'm so thrilled to find dairy-free alternatives that taste soooo good!
