Vegan Video Series

Eric Prescott has made a fascinating collection of first-person video stories, so people could share their accounts of how they gave up eating animal-based foods.

Risa is a singer and songwriter who works in a raw foods restaurant. One of her songs is about animal rights.

Gary is a law professor and clerked for Sandra Day O’Connor when she was on the Supreme Court. He tells an intriguing story of how he met the women who had just founded PETA, and his road to veganism.

Minku is very interested in animal rescue and bicycling. He and his partner do animal rescue so a vegan diet meshes well with their lifestyle.

Phillip is an LA-based music producer and mixer, who became vegan due to his close relationship with a childhood dog. This intimate connection led him to question the practices associated with meat consumption and production because they cause so much animal suffering.

John is from Nebraska and started to become interested in veganism due to the writing of Moby, who is a vegan musician.

I became vegan 8 years ago after a lifetime of eating meat and dairy. My enlightenment came about when England had foot and mouth throughout the land and the images of the animals being burnt appaulled me. I then sought out more information and the more I found out the more determined I became to change my lifestyle and it was incredibly easy, I have never looked back and feel so much fitter now than I did in my younger days and plus the bonus of losing excess weight put on through eating meat and dairy products especially. The older I get the fitter I feel! People say 'Oh don't you miss eating this or that', but when you know the cruelty what goes into making 'this or that' its a piece of vegan cake giving it up! I cannot commend the vegan diet enough - your have nothing to lose (except weight) and everything to gain!

Just for those who have taken up this lifestyle and have some doubts about your need for meat. Or for those who are catching a lot of flack from someone who want you to come back into the meat eating fold, here is some science to back up your decision.

I became a vegan more than 15 years ago for health reasons. At that time I wasn't aware of the cruelty how animals were treated on factory farms. It's great to see videos and articles like this to educate the people. The benefits of being vegan is you improve your health and well being. If everybody would be on a vegan diet, we would eradicate cancer, heart disease, obesity and many other health issues from this planet.

It is so easy to research all of the vegetarians throughout history who have emphasized the need for humans to follow the veg diet. If only we all heeded these teachings, our planet and trillions of innocent lives could have been saved from pollution and pain. Pythagoras (initiation into the Logos, or Word) , Plutarch, John the Baptist (initiation into the Word), Jesus (ditto) Buddha, Rumi, Tao, Edison, Tesla, Leonardo da Vinci, and others who are entered into records. Most, of course, are not a part of recorded history, but, every generation has a handful of human beings who know better than to harm sentient life.
