What Is Forgiveness?

Why forgive? How can we move from anger and hatred to compassion, clarity and awareness?

I made this video to share with you how I came to understand what forgiveness is.

Through a practice of powerful expressive meditation techniques I  healed my heart and became more aware of my choices. I could put my energy into anger and resentment, OR focus on loving myself, and enjoying my life. How I came to choose the latter is explained in the video.

If  this message resonates with you, please share on your social media networks. The world needs more forgiveness.

I agree with heather g - I can forgive my mother, I can forgive others who have hurt me in some way, I can even forgive myself now. I am having an extrordinarily difficult time forgiving the poachers who slaughter animals to extinction. I don't know if I can ever forgive the illegal waste dumpers - pollutng, land, water, and even the oceans. Of course, there are the abusers, of women, children, men, and animals - not sure if I will be able to forgive them. I won't even bring up corrupt politicians or the mega-corporations who act like they are God. So many others, not enought time in my life to even consider forgiving any of them..

you can`t free yourself, if you are not able to forgive yourself.

I believe forgiveness requires letting go of the anger and fear to make room inside for better things. Even when not received as offered it's good for your soul. Freedom is a wonderful thing.

Forgiving my father will always be the roadblock for me! He was like an actor who comes on stage, plays his part and then exits. He never talked to us and inflicted physical and emotional pain of my mother and myself. When I look at who I am and what I have accomplished in life I have asked myself, "What part did my father play?"

A close friend and mentor said, ""There are some really bad people in the world who choose to be bad, but if he hadn't been so bad and did to you what he did, you wouldn't have been so giving, caring and loving to your clients!" Take comfort in that."

After 50 years of abuse my mother finally left him at 79 and died in a nursing home at 89. i am glad she finally had a reprieve.
