What Stage Are You On?

I’m offering the possibility of approaching existence from a different perspective.

The external world claims to be real, but it, too, is an image created in consciousness and projected outward. Once you realize that you alone are the projector of reality, you will no longer be dominated by external events.

You are standing center stage in your own personal drama. Surrounding you is a much larger stage, and if you find yourself in dangerous times on that larger stage, danger will be present. However, this situation is very different from seeing yourself living inside a swirling chaos of impending doom. The point is to take your place inside the drama of the larger stage with confidence. Everything is as it should be.

Adapted from Why is God Laughing? The Path to Joy and Spiritual Optimism, by Deepak Chopra (Harmony Books, 2008).

Thank you. I work in theatre, and rather like it that my job is a metaphor for people's lives!

When I let go of my hurt ego in times of trouble I often have to admit that things around me are as they are because of me -- especially the interpretation of events.

odd on this system I wanted to give the young lady who quoted shakespeare a green star but I'm not trusted. I could make some goofy comment but I can't hand out kudos. strange system but whatever...if I could direct my play I would have given her and Deepak green stars so here they are in comment form, thank you

What's this. A book on why God is laughing.

He tells me the best jokes.

It's relationship.

To share the good, to share the bad..... My former Sunday School teacher said God never changes. I said , "How boring. No wonder he wants to live in us. At least, WE change."

And we are downright comical.
