I admire the gourmet cooks that I know and have enjoyed many a good meal with them.

But, I am so glad that I can cook. I meet people, especially young people, who have no clue as to how to prepare a meal. They can open a can and reheat take out, but cook? Make a cake from scratch? Or know how to knead dough to make bread? Nooooo.

Cooking is not only an art but also a necessity. (If you learn to cook, you don't have to eat all those processed foods made by corporations who are putting who knows what in the food!)

Thin and gaunt chefs always made me wonder. Worked in the food and beverage business for 20yrs and chefs are verrrrrry temperamental. When weeded stay out of their way or get the wrath of the kitchen and never question their methods. Nothing you order will ever be quite right. One po'd at me once put the metal food covers on the grill top so when I went to serve my customer I was burned. Heed my words.
