What’s Your Favorite Dog Name? Vote!

I recently posted Cool Cat Names, which spurred so many interesting responses, that I thought I would follow-up with a “Cool Dog Names” list.  I am admittedly not as much of a dog person as I am a cat person, but I know oodles of cool dogs and have heard my share of great pooch names. So here is the list, again divided by defining characteristics/breeds.

Once again, please let us know which names are your favorites and suggest other names not on the list.  The most creative suggestion submitted by Dec 20th will be sent a small dog-related gift, so suggest away!  Please check back after the 20th to see which name won.

My kitty's name is very unoriginal (Mittens) but in my defense my 2 year old named her. My dog is Isis (because I am a huge Egyptology fan) my bf's dog is Sly (bc he is sneaky?) we had a Rottie named Nemesis (greek God of revenge) a Great Dane named Diesel, and a cat named Chiquilla (little one in Spanish) I WANT to name two dogs either Smeagal and Gollum or Marvel and DC :)

Apparently, there are far more Care2 readers that are cat lovers than dog lovers. The cat name list has 317 comments while the Dog names list only has 117! Granted, the cat list has been up longer, but not that much longer!

Or maybe, dog people are less opinionated than the cat people....

A German Shepherd I would definitely call Rex. For almost 18 years I had a midsize Pommeranian, his name was Prinz and he was a little gentleman.
A year ago my daughter bought a Rottweiler pup and named him Onyx because of his black coat.

Nimue Pendragon

Sheba, my german shepherd/kelpie cross.
