Thanksgiving is fast approaching and along with it — the season of giving back and giving thanks.
The answers have been inspiring and moving. Each of our supporters has a story about why they choose to give their time, energy or money. Sometimes it’s to leave a legacy. For others it’s about honoring a loved one or protecting the natural world that they love so dearly. As Rochester artists and teachers Leila Nadir and Cary Peppermint told us, “We feel strongly that there should be places where nature can be itself, where the land can express itself and remain undeveloped.”
Here are a few more of my favorite quotes that our supporters have shared:
“All parents should give their kids an opportunity to get outdoors.”
“I love the unpredictability that you find being out in nature – not knowing what bird you’ll find or what flowers will be in bloom.”
“We care so much. It’s better to have tried and lost than to never have tried at all.”
“If we take the natural open spaces for granted, we’ll lose them.”
What about you? Why do you choose to give back to nonprofits and charities?
Tell us why you give back to nature and help us inspire others to give back as well!
