Browsed Facebook or Instagram lately? They’re awash in cats. Big or small, grumpy or sleepy, the interwebs just can’t seem to get enough of these cuddly creatures. In fact, if an alien race was monitoring social media to learn more about us, they’d probably think cats were just as dominant as humans!
So what’s the deal? Why do we love cats so much? Despite the jokes and internet memes, the truth is that cats have been our friends and alarm clocks for thousands of years. It’s likely that we see a lot of ourselves in cats, as their body language and attitudes give us a clue to what’s going on inside their head. Just like us, cats can be snobby, needy, hyper, and destructive…sometimes all in the same day!
Cats’ curiosity gets them into all kinds of predicaments, many of which they can’t get out of without help! Unlike dogs, they don’t try quite so hard to please, and everyone knows that humans can’t resist someone who plays hard to get.
Are cats really a way for us to explore our own personalities or are we just suckers for a fuzzy little face? You be the judge.
