‘Tis the season for gift-giving. If you’re celebrating the holidays and live in the U.S., there’s a good chance you’ll spend over 500 dollars on gifts this year. Since our shopping choices dictate which businesses survive, why not support some good green companies.
This year we will be highlighting environmentally and socially conscious products, perfect for the green gifter. Look out for giveaway opportunities to make your holiday shopping a little easier. All you have to do is leave a comment on the post, and we’ll pick a winner of the green gift. Today’s product: a clutch from Ties That Matter.
The blue and red mini clutch is made from repurposed neckties and is perfect for holding all kinds of things. At 9″ x 7″ with a zipper top and a handy wrist strap (that tucks inside if you don’t need it), this bag is useful for holding a small wallet and keys for a quick trip to the store or as a removable “pocket” for organizing a larger purse. It can hold makeup, pens and pencils, sewing and craft supplies, toiletries and even an e-reader!
Ties That Matter (www.tiesthatmatter.com) makes bags, pillows, and hats out of repurposed neckties. They hire women in need to do the sewing and donate part of their profits to help support services for the homeless in Atlanta.
Leave a comment on this post for a chance to win the Ties That Matter clutch!

Neat...
aw these are adorable!
I love the idea of reusing and in doing so, helping out a community in need. Plan on doing some shopping here! Thanks for sharing.
These handbags would make great gifts. I love when someone takes such a simple idea and turns it into a great money maker plus the best part that all these tie ideas are recyclable, Thanks for being "Green" and doing your part for the world
Great project, quilters have been recycling fabric, including ties, for ages. Keeps the fabric out of the waste stream, gives employment, get your Xmas shopping done, great combination.
Thank you. It's definitely a way to ease off this christmas madness
I love this idea, what a great use for old ties!
