Women In Green Forum

The Women In Green Forum, which will take place in Santa Monica, CA  on August 30 and 31, 2011, is a pioneering conference of sustainable business leaders.

“The Women In Green Forum brings together an international audience of environmental leaders, including corporate executives, academic researchers, technology developers, and clean tech financiers. The Forum also includes participation from regulatory agencies involved in developing the policies and legislation which will further the development and propagation of green technologies on our roads, in our homes and at our schools.” - www.womeningreenforum.com

This forum is one of the networking opportunities of the year in green business. Last year’s speakers included Mariel Hemingway, Sarah Backhouse, John Picard and Senator Fran Pavley.

I attended last year’s event and here is my post after the experience:

The first Women In Green Forum, held September 1st and 2nd, 2010, in Pasadena, CA and produced by Three Squares, Inc. will prove to be an industry leader and most sought after speaking engagement, mark my words. This inaugural Women In Green Forum proved to be inspiring and motivating, with speakers as diverse as Mariel Hemingway, Author, Actress and Activist to Vonda Lockwood, Director, Operations Support and Sustainability, Walmart, but with parallel goals of environmental and humanitarian stewardship. I was not only humbled and impressed by the speakers and panelists, but by every attendee. I was empowered by the voices, hope, ambition and determination of these new leaders of sustainability, business and the world. - Jocelyn Broyles

Good to see it is happening.
Actually, apart from executive, academics, etc attending such a forum, some older housewives could contribute a lot to the discussion.
For instance, washing nappies is not such a terrible chore and would save millions of acres of forest from being cut down to make paper nappies. Lots of ideas like that should be shared.
