Very true!

Dr Wayne Dyer said: "when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change."

I took that and ran with it and I make the choice to see things in the most positive way....ie: a clumsy surgeon made a very serious mistake that couldn't be reversed and it changed my life at age 38. I lost my career just as I reached my goal, and was left with daily pain and a lot of discomfort and gave up my social life as I became homebound.
I could have become depressed, but I thought that would be pretty miserable, so I changed my life to fit into the new pattern I would have to live within and I've never been happier.

I explored my creativity and found out that I had some talent...and I've been seeing the silver lining and the rainbows ever since.

Never give up the power to choose to be happy.

So true. This can esp help ease envy. My friend and I went to college together, I graduated with an AS and she's considering a phD. I could be envious, but I realized she worked harder than I did in classes. I would hang with friends than study, she deserves it. I have a family I love and can always go back to school if I wanted.

Good statement? [and others like it]
Until one considers, it actually does it's own blaming and finger pointing.
That statement tacitly conveys:
...that the person repeatedly blocked from success, every time they attempt to be responsible for making their own way in the world, is doing that to themselves?

At what point does society stop promoting bullying behaviors, from subtle to glaring?
The habit of distilling complex ideas down to easily remembered phrases that go viral,
even the simple premise stated above,
while on the surface SEEMS like a good thought,
it is far too simplified, and could do more harm than good,
by conveying the message to the "failures" of the world that it is their own fault
--which is, in itself, a blaming gesture by those who have some level of personal success.
