It is a sad story where people do not really want an animal to let it run off. It is a shame. I hope they get the help they need.Thanks,Cher.

I think this is the story of a lot of towns that don't have the resources to do the best thing for the animals that, unfortunately, a lot of people don't seem to take care of. I hope more people will be educated, and that more will become concerned so that the resources can become available. Also, I think that the town should find a way that the volunteers who want to help can do just that. Thank you Cher.

ALl the shelters in our city are hurting badly and some have had to close; many are overwhelmed with the number of animals that have been "dropped off" at the shelters or have had to be rescued. NYC's ASPCA just got 100+ puppies from an out-of-state puppy mill.

Volunteers are sorely needed. The dogs DO NOT GET A WALK every day unless there ar epeople to walk them; if the staff is busy because of the overwhelming number of animals then "some of" all the dogs don't ge ta walk outsdoors. Even in the cold, it's good to get a breath of fresh air, even if it's only for 5 or 10 minutes.

Please, if you have some time, volunteer at your local animal shelter.
