This is the second time in a year that a Sunderbans tiger has been found with a mysterious injury to a leg. In February 2008, one such straying tiger was trapped in Jharkhali. It recovered and is now in the Khayrabari rehabilitation centre.

I dare saying that the injuries probably were provoked by human hand, be able not to have been intentional, I hope!

I daresay too, that it is probably not all that mysterious an injury. But I like the positivity of the doctors and they seem very compassionate. At least the villagers restrained themselves enough to call in the proper people.Thank you Cher. Noted and appreciated.

There's nothing mysterious about the leg injury. In all probability its from a snare. The people go into the forests to collect honey and are terrified about tiger attacks. These salt-water tigers are very fierce, daring to attack in broad daylight. The area is a quagmire of sodden mud and very little prey is available. So what easier that a slow-moving terrified man? Hence the snares, fierce iron toothed devices, that have resulted in the mutilation of many a forest animal. Wretched, wretched man and his insatiable appitite for more.
