The custody battle over celebrity polar bear Knut is now over, with the Berlin Zoo -- where he's lived since his birth in 2006 -- agreeing to pay 430,000 euros (about $600,000 U.S.) to keep him.

Glad he stays home. Also read the article at the site about that woman who 'despaired over not finding a job' and climbed several hurdles to get into the bear's enclosure. She was mauled. A pity she did not have the brains to realise she put the zoo staff's lives in danger, not to mention the possibility of someone having had to shoot the bears to save her life. Tut-tut...
