I just wonder what future generations are going to say about us, and what the history books will record about our society, our generation, our treatment of their future. I don't think it will be very complimentary, and I hope someone talks about the people who cared and worked to minimize the damage!

"We think that warm ocean currents reaching the coast and melting the glacier front is the most likely cause of faster glacier flow.” quote from the article...warm water...not CO2. Warm water currents are cyclical and natural.

Another half-truth to catch the gullible.

Humans CAN'T do it.

Judy Cross I think you have to be hit on the head to start realizing Globel Warming is for real. It is unfortuanet there are too many people like you who do not want to face the truth until it is too late.

I have been watching the history channel, and it is amazing what changes we are going through, and so much not for the best. But if you look back even 15 to 20 yrs ago you yourself can see what a change there has been. But on the other hand we really don't need the Government helping out our warming situation either. This is such a hindrance for the survival of our lands our waters and our beautiful critters. What is this coming to I ask myself. Scary
Thanks Cher

I you did see the Article that was in the news here a week ago I believe, it was a video that was rather long, but totally informative about all of our glacers and showed a time lapse video on how fast they are disappearing.

If you did see that video and watched it all, you would of been back in school and learned so much about all of the damage and devistation that has been done to our wonderful planet.

Now we are faced with such a horrible fight for survival for our creatures that once thrived in these area, only to now be dying at a fast rate.

Still the Greed of Man for his joy has not stopped.

Soon there will be nothing left to fight for, and we have left all of the future generation nothing but a desert filled with no beautiful creatures, forests, glacers, etc.

This is a great story and is happening so horribly fast it just is heartbreaking!

Sherbet I wonder when people will really wake up to the fact that these wonders of the earth are melting before their very eyes and that something drastic has to take effect... I hope that the countries can come together and agree on something constructive

Without the downwelling cold ogfglacier and ice shehet melt, the ocean currents and trade winds will change. Our grandchildren( great-grandchildren for me) will not live in the same world we do.

As I said...the gullible will go on believing the lies...God only knows why.

How the global warming industry is based on one MASSIVE lie
"Those of you who saw An Inconvenient Truth may remember, if you weren’t asleep by that stage, the key scene where big green Al deploys his terrifying graph to show how totally screwed we all are by man-made global warming. This graph - known as the Hockey Stick Curve - purports to show rising global temperatures through the ages. In the part representing the late twentieth century it shoots up almost vertically. To emphasise his point that this is serious and that if we don’t act NOW we’re doomed, Al Gore - wearing a wry smile which says: “Sure folks, this is kinda funny. But don’t forget how serious it is too” - climbs on to a mini-lift in order to be able to reach the top of the chart. Cue consensual gasps from his parti pris audience.

Except that the graph - devised in 1998 by a US climatologist called Dr Michael Mann - is based on a huge lie, as Sceptics have been saying for quite some time. The first thing they noticed is that this “Hockey Stick” (based on tree ring data, one of the most accurate ways of recording how climate changes over the centuries) is that it seemed completely to omit the Medieval Warming Period.

According to Mann’s graph, the hottest period in modern history was NOT the generally balmy era between 900 and 1300 but the late 20th century. This led many sceptics, among them a Canadian mathematician named Steve McIntyre to smell a rat. He tried to replicate Mann’s tree ring work but was stymied by lack of data: ie the global community of climate-fear-promotion scientists closed ranks and refused to provide him with any information that might contradict their cause.

This is the point where British climate change scientists appear - and in a most unedifying light. As Christopher Booker has reported the Met Office, its Hadley Centre in Exeter and the Climate Research Unit (CRU) at University of East Anglia are among the primary drivers of global climate change alarmism. Their data has formed the basis for the IPCC’s “we’re all doomed” reports; their scientists - among them Professor Phil Jones and tree ring expert Professor Keith Briffa - have been doughty supporters of Mann’s Hockey Stick theory and of the computer models showing inexorably rising temperatures.

Hence their misleading predictions of that “barbecue summer” we never had. As Booker says: “Part of the reason why the Met Office has made such a mess of its forecasts for Britain is that they are based on the same models which failed to predict the declining trend in world temperatures since 2001.

Judy may I be so bold to ask if you are a scientist?????

Judy Cross (83)
Tuesday September 29, 2009, 10:31 am
No, but if you would like the opinion of a scientist try this:

"What we need to change is our understanding of climate and the Earth as a whole. The Earth is constantly changing, typically in cycles, always in fact, and as humans, we can strive to understand the processes of change. As humans, we are a change agent, as part of the complex set of systems that operate on our planet. Human effects on our environment must always be considered but within the balance of all existing natural Earth processes. However, human activities simply cannot dominate long-standing natural Earth processes. As numerous and important as we see ourselves, we pale in comparison to the large-scale, ancient processes and changes that define our planet. We must understand this in order to move forward. Our future welfare depends on it."

Okay then Judy why base an opinion on one scientist...when there are thousands out there that do beleive in Global warming and climate change??? Yes there are that many out there that dont bleive, but I dont understand WHY you have to bash everyone and I do mean everyone that posts any kind of climate change and global warming article??? Why are you so upset???? Becasue one will not conform to your way of thinking??? I do have much respect for you and have followed your posts for 2 years now....and all I see is anger with you...Beleive me when I tell you this I DO read what you post I DO see your points of veiw, but why be so nasty at times????

Oh, you said, you've been around long enough to know that the skeptics are numerous.

I don't have time for this kind of "why be so "nasty?" 60's nonsense.

Our governments are at war against us. Al Gore, Maurice Strong, Goldman Sachs, etc.are now and will continue to profit from the climate war, but the basic agenda is population reduction

Pretending that we can control climate by our use of energy and then taxing us for it is a giant fraud and scam

The only thing the scam had going for it was faked evidence of a correlation. That day is past. It hasn't warmed in 11 years

Now all they have is lots of money taken from THE PEOPLE to pay other people to keep the gullible and ill educated in line.

That is why I'm "nasty" about it. We are dealing with a criminal agenda. How much more proof do you need.

I should be nice about it when they are trying to rob us and then kill us?

What's wrong with YOU?

I believe in freedom of speech and all but I really don't see the need to be nasty.

And I believe in climate change ( that's obvious probably ) and I enjoy reading other people's views other than my own, it's what makes us work as humans I think, the diversity. That doesn't mean I have to agree but I do want to know.

Judy Cross (83)
Tuesday September 29, 2009, 11:19 am is NOT NASTY to point out that there is a fraud going on.

NASTY is in the eye of the beholder.

Yes, I'm angry...given how I have been treated by those defending and pushing the FRAUD.

How often was I called a liar, a shill for the oil companies, a denier,an employee of Exxon........?

I think I have a right to be angry.

What I can't understand is someone who can't understand that!

Gorilly Girl (339)

Judy I NEVER called you a liar...Never not once did I...They way you present yourself is nasty...that is what Im saying now...I get pissed also at things, but I dont mean to make people feel like subordinates. If you came across a bit more um how do I say compassionate things might be diffrent...No I dont hate you...never have just think you are a wee bit mean in the presentations. Not all of us treat you like crap, so I think you need to remember that. By the way sweetheart there IS nothing wrong with me...but a big passionate heart trying to get everyone to get along...and to maybe see you side of the points you so present....

Judy Cross (83)
Tuesday September 29, 2009, 2:25 pm
This isn't about YOU.

I don't care that you think my presentation is nasty...I think yours is vacuous and inane...compassion for
con artists?

Compassion for Al Gore when even now he is raking in money from this outrage?

How about some compassion for the brave scientists who helped expose the scam and got vilified for it?

Give us all a break!

Gorilly Girl (339)

Judy its done and over...You obviousley have so much hate in you there is no reasoning with you....I will not debate this anymore with you. I never even came close to saying this was about me either...LOL Im not sure where you came up with that one..but you are pureley delusional.

Judy Cross (83)
Tuesday September 29, 2009, 3:22 pm
That's nice. I guess it is hard to keep the pretense.

You were not debating the facts. A fraud is being perpetrated and we now have solid proof of it..

You made it about me and you.....HUH?

You said that I was mean and nasty and I should show compassion. I objected to that. Compassion for a rapist is all very well, and I'm sure one gets credit in heaven for it.... but don't you want dangerous people behind bars....where they can no longer harm people?

I don't hate these crooks. I don't hate snakes or rabid dogs either. It is foolish to hate psychopaths...that's just the way they are. But sitting around waiting for them to pick you off IS lunacy.

Your last blast ...that I'm the delusional one, is certainly more about projection than reality.
