Governments and the UN should impose a carbon tax on corporations, both for production - wherever their facilities are located - and for transport, which the Kyoto Protocol does not account for directly. Incentives for renewable energy are also essential

It really is strange how the advertising and public relations people running the show don't want to give up the idea of a burning earth in spite of there having been no warming for 11 years.

But, as you can see from this article...it is really about global governance by a centralized authority.

If you think you have no effect on government now...just wait until all of it is controlled by a single set of un-elected bureaucrats....for the whole planet.

Data from tree rings, ice cores and coral reefs taken with instrumental observations of air and ocean temperatures, sea ice melt and greenhouse gas concentrations have all emerged in support of climate change theory it is there folks in black and white....Noted and fixin to sign...

Signed and forwarded. Also fixing to bug my husband so he remembers too.
No matter who you are or where you go, the laws of physics apply. This is about the laws of physics and the damage we are doing - and the need to address and decrease and eventually stop the damage.
For centuries most of the people in the Western world believed the world was flat. They had no evidence for this, they just knew. Then technology progressed and some developed tools and math to better assess the planet. Some brave souls decided to go exploring. Those who believed the planet was flat not only continued to believe it but attempted to dissuade the explorers from venturing forth, by telling stories of people falling off the edge of the flat world. The explorers prevailed just as the scientists and technologists prevailed. But for a long, long time, many continued to insist that the world was flat. They believed in a flat planet with all their hearts and their belief was sincere. For a long, long time huge numbers of the people populating the Earth insisted that the planet was flat. For all the believing and insisting and stubborn refusal to consider data, what happened? Nothing, none of that changed the shape of the world by one iota.
No matter who you are or where you go, the laws of physics apply.

@Judy It really is strange how some people can't give up the idea that global warming isn't real despite abundant evidence to the contrary. Ignore to what advertising or public relations people are saying on either side of the fence. Just pay attention to what the vast majority of climate scientists are saying. If that's too scary for you, feel free to bury your head in the sand and let other people solve the problem. Just don't spread scientific misinformation or hamper our efforts. The idea that it's about global autocracy is just silly.

Judy can't count, it seems. She actually beleives that myth that global warming stopped in 1998, when in fact it last peaked in 2005, FOUR years ago. There is a huge difference between an extreme temperature spike caused by a regional phenomenon (El Nino in 1998) and general warming around the world (like in 2005). Temperatures have fallen slightly since 2005 only because of lower solar activity, but that does not mean we can simply pretend the problem will go away. The higher levels of greenhouse gases are still a vital issue to deal with. Based on the solar activity alone, we should be heading towards another Little Ice Age, but we are nowhere near that yet.

Did global warming stop in 1998? (NO)

Anyway, thanks for your continued efforts and action items Cher - we continue to make strides forward everyday (which is the real fear of the denialists who are desparately trying to hanging onto the status quo - i.e., BIG fossil fuel profit$$)...
