In 2002 and early 2003, a PETA undercover investigation at Sinclair Research Center, a laboratory hired by Iams, uncovered a dark secret: The dog and cat food manufacturer funds animal testing. Dogs were left piled on a filthy floor after chunks of

Come on now, there's no need for this awful habit to continue. You can test all sorts of products in very humane ways and you need to get that done now. In the meantime, we're switching brands from Iam's. We won't help you pay for this.
Thanks Cher.

Unbelieveable. A food company that produces cat and dog foods, and kills cats and dogs. Iams are just thumbing their nose at their customers.

Thanks Cher, signed and noted.

My god I feel truly sick after watching that video... How can this be allowed to happen? Animals being dissected while still alive, experimented on and left to die on cold stone floors! Whether they're dogs, cats, pigs, sheep, chickens... whatever their species!

This MUST STOP! Signed and added the following personal message:

"I am appaled and disgusted at the barbaric treatment of these dogs, and of all the poor creatures your company knowingly and willingly participates in the torture (I refuse to use the word experiment) thereof. I urge you to stop this unnecessary suffering. There are many ways of testing products that do not require the suffering of any living beings."

I don't have any pets so I won't be buying their products regardless, but I've told all my friends who do have four legged friends about this, and urged them to boycot Iams' products.

I wasn't aware that Iams carried out this disgusting "research" - thank you for letting us know. I certainly won't be buying any and I'll spread the word among all my friends who may.

Signed, but did NOT watch the video after I started to read the article, I knew I would be sick to my stomach and after reading Sam's comment, I am so happy that I didn't watch it.

In fact, I'm sick to my stomach after just reading your comment Sam! Green Star coming though to you.

The Humane Society here in Southern California uses IMS food, and they need to have this out to them for sure, this is just way to appalling and injust!

To do this to animals, that are peoples best friends, probably picked off the streets by some thug for $$$ or taken out of a shelter makes this so bad I will be writing letters to everyone I know and to IAMS food company...

Will take the letters to be posted at all of the pet stores around where I live, this is horrid!

This may sound cruel in some peoples eyes but why not use death row inmates as test subjects. They have done a terrible crime to be sentenced to such a harsh sentence so why can't they be the test subjects. Oh thats right they have rights, what about the animals , don't they have rights also?

I’m an employee at Iams, and a pet lover too. I wouldn’t work at Iams if this action alert and video it links to were representative of our policies or practices. The video was filmed more than 5 years ago at a facility we did not own, and once we found out about the blatant violations of our long-standing animal welfare policies, we immediately ended our relationship with them. We took all the dogs that had been involved under our care, and put them in our adoption program. They were adopted by Iams employees or families and now have forever homes.

You don't have to take my word for it. Dr. Steven Hansen of the ASPCA offers details about our research here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dExk5nJY6AI. And Karen Nichols, of Catster, tells about her visit with us in September, 2009 here: http://blogs.catster.com/the-cats-meow-a-cat-and-kitten-blog/animal-testings-happy-healthy-test-subjects/2009/09/14/. If you want to read what we have to say about it, please visit www.IamsTruth.com.
