It's bad enough when cops shoot dogs at large that are running in neighborhoods but when cops go on someone's property, in their yard or even in their home and shoot their dogs, that is really going overboard if you ask me.

This is nonsense! Has no one thought of using a tranquilizer gun? Those officers should never have used lethal force and to leave a dog dead or wounded is just heartless and unethical.Shame on them.

I would sell or hock everything I could find and get a damn good lawyer. I have said repeatedly that the American police shoot first then make an effort to engage the one unused brain cell that they might carry! I think that it is time to start making them responsible for their actions.

If a police officer enters a house (or garden), uninvited and without a warrant, then they must consider that their actions have consequences.

I accept that there are many good police persons who do good things and put themselves on the line to protect people. There are also many killed in the line of duty and I am always saddened when that happens. However, I'm not always sure that American police look at alternatives to their guns. They usually seem gun happy and tend to use that first before considering alternatives.

UK police do not patrol armed and do not respond to calls with weapons other than asps and pepper sprays. Some carry tasers and have special training to use it. We have armed response units who may not fire without permission. Accidents happen but there is not the number of people killed by police and dogs are dealt with either by dog handlers or the RSPCA. I'm not say we are perfect but we certainly do not have dogs shot nor are people killed/hurt by gun shots, they have to THINK first.

Obviously... There was no prowler on the Property if it contained barking dogs.
What were the Police doing there?

There is no way that a dog is going to stand back and wait around the corner until they entered the gate. Dogs will beat you to the gate, so whomever shot the dog had to have known better.

Am I missing something? It sounds like they either shot over the fence, or entered even though the dogs were there barking at them. Irresponsible either way.
