We have a problem here with one non-profit that implants chips in animals to be adopted. This is a bit convoluted and I apologize for the length but would appreciate receiving suggestions.

Let's say that I find an animal and take him/her to the vet to be scanned. The best possible outcome will be that the vet will read a chip, call the chip distributor and get the owner information through the manufacturer associated tracking service. The next best outcome will be that, although the animal is not registered with the tracking service, the manufacturer can refer to the implanter and then the finder contacts the implanter and gets owner ID.

However one particlular non-profit shelter here will not give out microchip ID information to a finder of an adopted animal (or even to the finder's vet's office). The finder is told to bring the animal in to the shelter. Sometimes a finder is reluctant to take an animal to this particular shelter, or does not have transportation.
Although this shelter does give out the registry information, many adopters assume that once they own the animal they also own the microchip that has been implanted in the animal. This is quite possibly a consumer issue.

Of course everyone should register their pets with the microchip-associated tracking service, but . . .
Input please.

From the article
==============
At a hearing on Bousquet, many supporters spoke out in her defense, but that didn’t make a difference. Bousquet has been fired from the position she held for six years. In a statement to the press, Kristin Bousquet says she was not “100 percent truthful”.

I wasn’t aware there were several degrees of truth. Oh wait, yes there is. In mathematics it’s called Fuzzy Logic.
======================================================================

There is only one kind of truth - THE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH

How horrible and stressful for the poor owner. Glad the owner used her smarts and that the corrupt officer lost her job too! How many other animals has she lied about?
