Thank you Cher for this article. I have not heard about this either, but I always had my suspicions. Now confirmed! Never again will I ever purchase anything made with down! I had a duck when I was a little girl I loved her so much. She was the one that got me hooked on Poultry in general. Great happy birds those ducks and geese. This is heartbreaking to me.

DOWN WITH DOWN!

This is something new to me too Cher! Thanks for posting this.

As the article says, "If you don't eat animals, but you still use down, wear leather or fur, or consume dairy and eggs, you're still a part of the processes. You're still creating demand and paying for these young animals' slaughter. The killing of animals for food is profitable not just because people will buy their flesh and milk -- but also because people will buy the other so-called products and byproducts of these industries. And whatever the animals are initially exploited for, they're always slaughtered in the end."

Gorilly, that quote wasn't aimed at you lol. It applies to me too. After reading the article, I realized I have FEATHER pillows on my bed (ouch). I still have some old LEATHER shoes and belts in my closet, but I won't buy anymore. Nobody's perfect. Someone once said the direction you're going in is more important than where you're coming from. I believe that's true. Big Hugs to you Gorilly Girl!

Thank you for the story.

I watched the video and had no idea. I have sent the story to My Space and will look into not using down.

Those poor birds!
