I don't understand why the CO DOW didn't relocate the animal? Just to busy?! I doubt it.

Sad, but I get that nothing else he could do, unless he kept losing his goats....

So sad, but I guess he had no other option. It didn't seem as though the CO DOW even considered relocation.

"How many people do you know that could probably ever say, ‘Hey I shot a mountain lion in my lifetime?’”

I hope not many! Like others I don't understand that the mountain lion was not relocated.

CoDOW should now explain as to why they advised the cougar to be shot. Thanks Cher for posting this story.

I too would like to know why the animal was not relocated. I would hope there was a very good reason, but would like to know what it is. But, how scary for the farmer and his family.

Like everybody else, I don't understand why this cat couldn't be relocated; he was already trapped. This farmer didn't even want to kill it, and he had lost most of his goats! Noted Cher, thank you.

I can understand the farmers action but of course do not agree with it, strangely it was not his first response but only carried out after consultation with officials! Why they did not relocate the lion as it was securely contained and had a carcass or three to eat is a mystery as the farmer seemed reluctant to kill it anyway! Perhaps they could not be bothered to come out immediately to deal with it! One can only be thankful that the kill was quick and apparently did not involve the usual amount of suffering when some trigger happy cop wounds an animal and it runs in fright so they have to pepper it with shot to kill it! May the soul of this lion killed by the orders of officialdom rest in eternal peace through our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen!
