When are people going to realise that they can't just dump things into the oceans without repercussions? Thanks Cher

The saddest part is the fact that biodegrdable plastics have been available for awhile now. Granted, they cannot be used for everything, but to borrow an old Chinese quote"the journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step"---Lao Tzu

This makes me sick. It's the tip of the iceberg of what is really happening. Animals are often the first to suffer because of human stupidity, neglect and greed. But now babies are being born with chemicals, some from plastics, already in their bodies. It's out of control now.

Honestly speaking you and me are the killers. Because we uses plastic everyday whether we need or not. We can reduce the usage but we don't.

People need to wean themselves away from plastics! It is a by-broduct of dirty petroleum. Stop buying water in single-use bottles. Get yourself a refillable stainless steel bottle from Sigg or hundreds of other sources. Convenience packaging is for YOUR convenience. It DESTROYS wildlife! Stop buying all that cheap plastic crap from China!
Reduce, re-use & recycle!!!

A lot of plastic goes down stormwater drains, and ends up in waterways. At least two cities in my country have installed filters in stormwater systems, which reduces the flow of plastic and other waste into the sea. Other cities could consider installing such filters.
