Perhaps I am naive, but I would hope that the children referred to would only work part-time, AND attend school???

lyne and Ness...I totally agree. These children should be going to school rather than working. Are their parents working? If not, provide work for them and let the children be children...go to school and play. And, play is a form of learning.

Agree an education should be the priority. Perhaps they could "work" on a project, to make $$.

Signed, nodted, thank you Cher.

#101...thank you Cher!!!

I totally agree, these poor children should have the advantage to attend school, sadly most of these countries make children work, thus leaving them to end up in eternity in slavery!

In Yemen we already have children "responsible" of collecting plastic bottles in the streets. And THAT is what I would like to change. I do not want to see children in the streets, searching in the garbage, with no shoes, no gloves, under a boiling sun, surrounded by mosquitos (we have malaria and dengue).
A recycling plant is obviously - always - a good idea. But let's search for something different for children. Let's grant them education and proper meals.

What is it with these petitions...if you dont live in the States you cant signed, were talking about the children in Uganda. Does the US think that they are the only one's who's voices count ????

The same thing happened in Haiti when the quake happen they took over the Airport of Port au Prince to the extent that other countries had trouble landing to give a helping for tought
