We, Pet Detectives and Rescue Fund believe there should be a new law put into effect that would stop pet stores from purchasing dogs and cats from Puppy and Kitten Mills. The pet store should get the animals from shelters and get them adopted to prevent

Sounds good but I don't think we will see and end to 'pure bred' puppies and kittens. Their owners will not turn them over to shelters for free.

I went to change.org but did not see the petition. I wonder how the HSUS pledge is progressing - where pet stores pledge to help rehome shelter animals.

How about we just stop petshops altogether, you can find places elsewhere to buy your petfood from, I know places that only sell food tpys and other accesories, that's where all supplies should be bought from, I could not support a pet shop, even if you are not buying a pet by buying anything from their store you are supporting cruelty to animals.

I had similar problems to those mentioned above, I used Kunal's post to make sure I had signed the petitions and pledges on Change regarding the puppy mills (and caught up with several others while I was on there)

Great idea...but I am not sure this will ever happen. For whatever reason some people believe dogs from breeders are better...no matter if they come from mills or not :(

To the people who run puppy and cat mills - You have ears to listen to the suffering of these animals, but you dont want to hear. You have eyes to see the suffering of the animals, but you dont want to see. Remember, one day the wind will change direction and you will become the sufferer and I hope the suffering goes on for long.
