When will we ever learn that just because an animal is in service, it does not mean it needs to be injured/abused...

signed and noted. it is so sad to make animals work , it is simple and common explotation to earn money using animals, they should be in their habitad doing what they have to do related with their nature, not enterteinig people in a circus or wherever. I hate that

South East Asia...where everyday is a disaster for animals. Elephants have strong familial relationships and are very affectionate towards each other in the wild. This treatment under the control of humans is inhumane and abusive. It needs to stop and the elephants must be allowed to live their lives free of interference from humans.

Thank you Cher, as we all know elephants are such wonderful creatures, and humans in many cases are not. Cruelty must be stopped.

In 1994 in Uttar Pradesh in the north of India, my son and I had the opportunity to make friends with a working elephant and her baby. The baby was very cute, just like a human baby in its cuteness.
When we had to leave, both trumpeted after us for a long time and waved their trunks. We felt really bad about having to go away.
They certainly are sentient beings and when treated well, very affectionate. Cruelty has no place in the management of animals.

Elephants are so terribly mistreated. It makes me very sad to think about how much they suffer at our hands, and for our "entertainment". I wish more people like Juliette cared about what happens to elephants, maybe then less of them would have to live their lives in pain and torment.
