Once a person stops eating animals altogether, it is hard to believe that one ever DID, or that anyone else still does!

May I add; -The insane EU fiishing policy has been going on for decades, and my guess is that it will continue until there's not a living fish to find anywhere...

I bet that they will start killing all the big fish eating sea mammals with even more gusto now....if only people would stop eating fish and land animals...

Not only does the current fishing policy allow over fishing it demands that a large portion of any catch is thrown back in to the sea, dead. The whole policy needs reviewing as a matter of urgency.

Assistance is needed for restocking, catch and release has to be utilized for future fish populations, as an outdoorsman, I take pictures and measurements than let the big fish go. Only eat what you can, preventing overkill. It only makes sense...

I "signed" the petition with link provided above by Ben Oscarsito with comment: "Fish and other marine inhabitants have an intrinsic value and do not exist just so that humans can kill them. No governments should be subsidizing commercial fishing or other animal killing industries. It is unacceptable that Croatia has been bullied by the European Union to open up its territorial waters to fishing boats from other countries."

I was not happy with "signing" the WWF petition because it is a non-abolitionist petition which does not oppose commercial fishing and there was no place for a comment.

I "signed" the WWF petition, prompted in part by the comment by John Williams.

(I am never sure where to draw the line. Some "sustainable" and "welfarist" measures can be a step towards abolition of animal killing industries; others seem counter-productive. For example, I would "sign" a petition asking to "stop cruel transport of farm animals" but would not "sign" a petition asking for "humane slaughter".)
