Ensure that the De Beers Group keeps their environmental and social obligations to the people of Hondeklipbaai before they sell off their diamond mines.

I'm happy to sign. It seems to me that diamonds, like gold, are one of those things that all too many of us would like to turn a blind eye to when we know that the conditions endured by the miners are appalling - and something we would never endure ourselves.

So no diamonds or gold for me. I hope, in time, that others will come to see it the same way.

SIGNED! Thanks for posting it. This is an issue that has effected enormously on both people and whole countries through decades! So many countries has been destroyed by it and by that the people who lives in them. They say that the diamond business is the most honest(????) because every deal is made by a handshake - that makes one wonder how they then explains the "blood diamonds"??????

Signed and noted. I haven't purchased diamonds in years. The last one was my wedding set, which is less than a carat. It was purchased before I ever knew about this stuff. I'm just glad I know now. I don't buy any kind of jewelry anymore unless it's made from recycled materials, and I still only get something every few years. Any kind of mining is not only unhealthy and dangerous for the miners, but it's terrible for our planet! And diamonds are definitely the worst. Signed and noted. Thanks

I have been supporting the victims of blood diamonds for a while. Even the smallest donation helps provide prosthetics for the poor victims of this mindless violence.
