Located some 50 kilometres northeast of Sudbury, Wolf Lake lies in the area commonly called Temagami. It is beloved by hikers and canoeists for its soaring stands of 300-year-old red pines and deep blue lakes.

Thank you Cher for all that you do every day to help. When I think of your hard work, I remember the Pete Seeger song: "Inch by inch, row by row, that's how I going to make my garden grow."

#20 and shared, thanks Cher. Not sure if it's my computer or Change, but today that site has been as slow as molasses going uphill in winter!

Sending a Green Star is a simple way to say "Thank you"
You cannot currently send a star to Cher because you have done so within the last week.

I've been in this area a number of times, it is a nature jewel, large and with a rich history, not a place for industrial mining activity. Even a few decades ago another oldgrowth forest in the same area had to be protected by protestors. Never ends.

i don't like killing any trees but trees as old as this deserve more respect. What a sad thing it will be if they are cut down after having survived for so long. It should be a crime to cut down trees that old.

Very few beautiful old growth forest ecosystems exist, so this one as it is, is incredibly valuable, and worth more left to stand -- just as it is.
These trees and the forest will not be replaceable. At best a new forest with an ecosystem will take 300 to 500 years to grow something like this forest ecosystem. Please will you save the entire forest and all the trees. Please consider using recyled material or an alternative project and no minning.
