Tell the Nigerian government that these children desperately and urgently need help. It is their responsibility to provide clean and safe water to Nigerian children. The source of this devastating lead poisoning is from the methods used for mining gold

While following a concern for another subject, I found Nigeria's government press toward righting wrongs done by Shell Oil and others, massive oil spills, and other issues. Nigeria is a relatively small nation overwhelmed by serious pollution, as well as other problems such as religious strife from the usual subjects.
Just as in other governments right here at home, there is massive corruption.
THe nation there is heavily deforested and overpopulated, just as so many others, including ours. They have less recourse to personal relief enough to gain understanding. I first discussed Nigerian difficulties with an educated Nigerian with whom I shared living quarters 35 years past

This comment is only intended to lend a larger view.

I am not at all sure that organizations, whether UN or other, can actually improve the lot of humans, in the light of the problems involved in modern culture - this means unrestricted capital investment.

What do we need all this gold for? We can recycle it from industry and electronics. Even if that's not enough, who needs gold with the blood of children on it?
