They were making chirping sounds! But what concerns me most, the way I saw the video, the mother gave her black cub a few quick licks and then started bathing herself leaving the black cub crying. At the end of the video she came close to sitting on it, and back to bathing herself. Am I the only one who saw it this way? TY Cher, the cubs were adorable.

BarbCat the Sunshine Lady, you're so right. I was on the edge of my seat wondering WHEN and IF Mom would please help the last little cub! And it looks like she never did! The video being somewhat dim and dark, I couldn't tell for sure it was black, but yes, it was the 3rd one born (right?). The other poor cubs had to fend for themselves too, it looked like, without much from Mom.

I do hope mom Cheetah will get a little bit better on board with her duties!!

Otherwise, an exciting video! Thanks.

Wow. I wouldn"t worry too much about the chirpy cub. The vid stopped right after the birth of number three and I'm sure that as soon as she got him/ her cleaned up, she rounded the other two up as well and gave them all a good feed. Chirpy will probably end up being the chubbiest of the three!
Tx Cher.

A true miracle and what precious cubs! They making little chirping sounds! Hopefully, this mother Cheetah who seems quite inexperienced will become a better mother every day and these precious little cubs will all grow up strong and be able to bring more of these incredible and endangered animals into the world! TY Cher.

@ BarbCat --- I think what you saw was the mother giving birth to the third cub. When momma got up and changed positions, almost sitting on one cub, she has the 3rd cub partially out of her. She is both mother and 'midwife' and appears to be coaxing the cub out. She must also then clean the fur and ensure that nothing is blocking the nose.

I was particularly watching the vain attempts of the one cub trying to get up and walk, only to fall over. What an incredible joy to see a birth like this. Thanks

Didn't watch the video out of espect for the cheeta. I think the birth of a baby should be a private moment between the mother and the baby she carried for so long. It is not to be shared with the world. By video'ing the birth cheapen the experience. I hope they got a written statement from the mother cheetah OK'ing the video. If not, I hope someone sues the person who video'ed thiss on behalf of the cheeta.
