If we're going to avert catastrophic climate change, our actions must match the magnitude of the crisis we face. The EPA recently proposed new minimum standards under the Clean Air Act to limit carbon dioxide emissions from new power plants

The shallow genetic pool that dominates the readership of breitbart doesn't believe in climate change. They are still struggling to accept that the earth is round.

While the evidence does suggest 'Climate Fluctuation' induced by both natural (volcanoes) and human-sourced emissions, we can only compensate for it with the tools nature has provided. Planting 'Carbon Hungry' plants like Bambú, Industrial Hemp, and fast growing lumber farm trees can recover most or all of the CO² from the fossil fuel facilities, converting it to textiles and building materials for long term sequestering without some fancy calcium scheme that will run us out of limestone faster than oil or coal. We can maximise the efficiency of such plants, plus filter the stack emission to eliminate heavy metal vapour, carbon and sulphur particles, and other dangerous by-products. The plants should further support 'supplementary' energy sources that can partake of its transmission transformer stations, including wind turbines and solar concentrators and PV cells, plus should begin a move towards geothermal hotwell steam sources to replace the fossil fuel combustion system. Eventually we can become self sufficient on the most efficient solar power system ever made - trees and grasses. Lumber farms practising cut and plant are sustainable, especially when they use native area trees and are adjacent to an old growth natural forest so ecosystem spillover enhances the life in the lumber farm.

We are not going to avert catastrophic climate change. We are far past the window for that now. Everyone hates nuclear power, but the reality is that if our civilization and our species is going to survive at all, then we need more nuclear power and we need it quick. We have to get off fossil fuels and use every alternative, including nuclear, now.
