For every action there is a reaction. According to the law of karma, if we cause pain and suffering to other living beings, we must endure pain and suffering in return, both individually and collectively. We reap what we sow, in this life and the next, for nature has her own justice. No one can escape the law of karma

Horses and dogs have done so much for humans, When the first horse was ridden man progressed to what we are today, we have used them to fight our wars, to travel the planet, now we have cars etc they are looked at by many has redundant to our needs - we should cherish these noble animals giving them the respect they deserve along with dogs for their contribution to the human race.
If we have so many horses we have to kill thousands ( Dogs included ) - Stop the selfish, greedy human from breeding them, problem solved with NO suffering.

How revolting this statement is - as if horses were not a living creature but a money making investment to be killed in the maximum numbers for maximum profit

Doen't America understand that it has gone from being a very popular travel destination to an unpopular one. Many people myself included, a regular annual visitor now are boycotting travel due to this countries disgraceful murder and general abuse of animals.USA is going down the drain fast and it is self inflicted.

It is tragic that horse slaughter was illegal in this country and then made legal again by a senate who concealed it in a budget bill and then a president who signed it into law! But even when horse slaughter was illegal in this country, it was still legal to transport horses to slaugherhouses in Mexico and Canada! The only way to get rid of this awful inhumane practice is for our congress to pass a federal bill, The American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act, that would ban it both in this country and ban the exportation of horses to other countries for this purpose! Sadly, with the current congress we have, I don't think this will pass. I'm hoping that with the next election (if the people start getting wiser about the way they vote and the Republicans certainly don't care one iota about the poor and middle class who are struggling to make it) maybe we can finally complete ban horse slaughter in the U.S. and in every state and also stop the export of horses to other countries for this sordid and inhumane practice!
