It would be easy to make judgments about this...but none of us were there.

That's so sad.

True pam w., but I can't help to wonder if there may have been a better way and they chose not to use it. Those thoughts always creep into my mind whenever I read a story like this. Thanks Cher.

As they say, with friends like that who needs an enemy. I don't think I'd want them to save me. Perhaps he mis-spoke, he wanted to save accidents from happening on the roadway. Or perhaps the shot wasn't meant to be fatal but they missed wounding it.

???? What?!! Shall we shoot all the deer living in the forests near roads, just in case they jump on the street and die in pain???? This is just sad, very sad...

And... they believe the animal to be safe now?

Good Grief- a tranquillizer gun would have done just as well.

Why couldn't they have just stopped traffic for a bit- the animal had already been hit with tranquilizer darts and they eventually could have caught him.

What bastards.Karma.An eye for an eye.Sure they shoot the wallaby dead to protect it!!!!I wish thse bastards and their loved ones the very worst in life.
Tranquilizer darts and a few minutes to enable these to work would have bben an effective non lethal solution but they just disn't care less

Noted. It's extremely sad. The 'owner' should have better-ensured the wallaby's safety.
