Rescued adult cats can make fantastic laid back companions, but they can be energetic and playful too!

Almost all of rescued cats are the best. Most have come from homes where the owner has died and they need to find homes.

I consider my Spooky a rsecued cat; I saved him from a punk teenager who didn't give a crap about him! RIP my beloved Spooky-Pooky Bear...I'll meet you at Rainbow Bridge someday!! Didn't mean to get off the topic. I agree, adult cats are just as loveable and deserving of a home as a kitten and if I could I'd adopt them all too!! Thnx Cher-Tigeress!! xx

Thirty thousand cats ( I realize, nation wide for a country of England's size is amazing). My shelter adopts out between 240-260 cats a year- over a third are over 1 year. The oldest cat we have ever adopted out was 16 - her name is Sunshine, and she is enjoying her golden years out of our shelter.
Kittens are almost simple to adopt -they are soooooo cute - yet they are work to make them a part of your home. An adult cat (1-5 yrs.) is looking for some play, a pet, a window, and the realization that it is loved.

I wish I could rescue a cat, but I work away a lot and I don't think it would be fair. My last cat was rescued, a great character and sorely missed.
