I'm thinking sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) can clean virtually every surface in a house. I had a deep red stain from fruit punch on a counter top and extra concentrated dishwashing liquid barely touched it. I tried baking soda (has a scouring texture to it) and it took it completely away. Maybe the big companies don't want you to know or use simple cheap things instead of their products. Nah.

Fragrances (synthetic) are a big part of the problem also.

Best to clean with white vinegar -hydrogen peroxide - baking soda - lemon (real lemon) Bon Ami-- all fragrance free products for laundry -- and use 7th generation dish detergent or similar.
Plug-ins are deadly to birds and to me. Carpets should go -- and never never spray with a spray pesticide -
boric acid powder mixed with flour in a shallow pan under stove or fridge and spread very thinly in areas where children or pets will not get on the skin usually does the job.
