Sorry to blast the page. Signed, thank you ! email sent to Dr. Tuggle at

Two emails if care to use.

As one who is gravely concerned with conservation of Mexican wolves, I was deeply distressed to learn that a female wolf had been implicated in livestock depradation and a kill order has been placed against this female wolf. I implore you to not do this ! The last wolf shot in response to livestock depredation was the alpha female of the Durango Pack in New Mexico in June 2007. Her mate and pup disappeared thereafter and are presumed dead.

There are less than 60 Mexican wolves, and killing just one, especially a breeding female, will place this already vulnerable and threatened species at risk. I have also learned that biologists believe this female just had four pups this spring. By killing her, the pups are also at great risk - and we are talking about five lives lost plus disruption to the pack. This is inhumane and ecologically unsound, and frankly, I am appalled that my taxdollars are used for the slaughter of wildlife - our American wildlife - when viable alternatives exist.

I am tired of hearing about wolves ruthlessly slaughtered at the behest of the livestock industry, when I know for certain livestock depredation caused by wolves is minimal in contrast to the many other causes of death to cattle. I also know the Rancher had been paid for his losses in this incident, and the Fox Mountain Pack is surviving mainly on Elk. The public lands livestock industry CAN learn to operate with wolves, and the federal government CAN support policies such as grazing retirement to permanently reduce wolf-livestock conflicts.

Please take a stand for conservation and ethics and protect this highly intelligent and social species that many Americans like myself treasure and admire. Put an absolute end to this execution order against this female wolf Please !

Thank you for your serious consideration

Please, just mail, and copy/paste the letter onto the whitehouse contact webform! Starting today they will try to kill her; absolutely criminal! , and

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has issued an order to kill the alpha female of the Fox Mountain Mexican wolf pack. This matriarch and her mate have four new pups and a yearly pup. She has been implicated in killing livestock within their territory on the Apache National Forest in New Mexico.

The value of a breeding female Mexican wolf is far greater than a few non-native cattle. The federal government cannot “recover” imperiled Mexican wolves by shooting and trapping them and removing them from the wild.

There are fewer than 60 Mexican wolves in the wild. Eliminating even one wolf, especially a breeding female, is detrimental to the species.

Biologists believe this female has four pups born this spring. Killing her may doom her pups as well. Research also shows that wolves suffer trauma when their pack mates are killed.
The affected rancher has been paid for his losses. Killing the alpha female now is unnecessary appeasement to the public lands livestock industry.
The public lands livestock industry must learn to operate with wolves, and the federal government must support policies such as grazing retirement to permanently reduce wolf-livestock conflicts.
Killing this wolf wastes thousands of taxpayer dollars.
Not since 2007 has the federal government shot a Mexican wolf in the wild. This pointless and barbaric tactic policy is best left in the past.
