River, as we're now calling her, is a Bali dog who is currently under our care at the BAWA clinic. Her tale is a heartbreaking story of an owner's capacity for cruelty to his pet and the amazing loyalty and unconditional love of a Bali dog

Im just speechless. Even affter this angel was so abused she still went back to the only place she knew. Im in tears imagining the horror this angel went through. I can not convey how happy I am that River is safe. I so wish this angel lived in California, being a foster mom I would love to foster her.
Thanks my friend

That's how great and steadfast an animal ' s love and faithfulness. Some humans don't even have what these animals have, What a shame. It brought tears to my eyes just reading it. Thank you Olivier and Agung for what you both did. God bless you and those at Bawa clinic.

dogs don't hate or feel remorse, that is why some humans do this type of horror abuse i don't get it only the abuser knows why he does it but, the dog pays the worst price of any abuse for no motive. only monster with mental issues do this.

For every action there is a reaction. According to the law of karma, if we cause

pain and suffering to other living beings, we must endure pain and suffering in

return, both individually and collectively. We reap what we sow, in this life and

the next, for nature has her own justice. No one can escape the law of karma.

Thanks.... A good thing (about that the dog got help) also a sad thing (about the abuse) which happened somewhere in my country... It's a rare thing to be found I suppose...

As the article said, neighbors would have killed this animal for dinner. How this animal got this far in lid=fe in Indonesia is a miracle. Peace and love to this animal -a home awaits.

The owner of River is a disgrace to humanity. I'm glad that she was saved.

Too many humans are capable of the most extreme violence towards animals. They should be punished in this life, usually they're not. I can only hope that what they endure in the next life is 10 times worse than what they have done to those innocent animals.

It sounds like dogs are not safe in Bali so I hope she gets a home somewhere else and not back to a village that wants to eat her. My dog was shot and killed in Ohio when I was a kid because he chased chickens on a farmers land. He was one of those dogs that could escape anything and the farmer needed his chickens for his survival. I had moved to California when it happened but I still remember the heartache I felt. My beloved dog could not come to California with us and I still cry when I think of him.

This is one of the saddest things I have ever read. I just want to pick River up and give her a hug and show her that she is a good dog and she deserves love too. I hope his owner is being prosecuted and rots in jail.

What is wrong with these people? I pray to God that they have very short misable lives and spend eternity in hell suffering the pain and abuse they caused River and I'm sure other animals. They need to be prosecuted and never to have animals again. I will remember this story and will not vacation in Bali.

Signed and made a comment. Such people deserve to be treated the way they treated their dog. Its eyes give an idea of the sufferings it has gone through.

When a man is starving, his dog can bring him far more food than he'd have by eating the dog. We've lived for 20 millennia or more with the sons of wolves; we should pay attention to that fact a lot more!

The fact that she went back to this horrid excuse for an owner, a term I don't even like but appropriate here, and just sat there seems equally as ad as the fact that she suffered such abuse. The village people are no better. We can only hope they learn to value dogs instead of treating them like garbage. I am only grateful she will no longer have to suffer and that she will enjoy many years of real love thanks to these two men.

Thank you for saving River from the monster that was supposed to care for her. What that poor baby went through, may she get the forever home she so deserves that will help heal the emotional and physical wounds this scum caused. I wish nothing but happiness for River. For Rivers owner, hope he gets charged to the max for what he did and personally I could care less about him, we don't need anymore evil people in the world like him, big man to abuse a loyal, loving and innocent dog.

Bravo for Olivier and Agung. I hope River will not go back to the village where she was from. I wish I could adopt her as I'll bet she is a very sweet girl. It will take special care to bring her out of this "freeze" state.
